Open House

The Wife is holding an Open House this afternoon. I suppose I am too, but it's really The Wife's project. In 2008, The Wife underwent breast cancer treatment. For surviving that, she rewarded herself with a new kitchen in 2009. Now, to celebrate the completion of the kitchen remodel she's inviting everyone over for a catered affair.

Planning for today began in October. The preparations began in earnest in December. It's been a mad dash of errands and cleaning every day since Christmas. Now I'm just glad the day will soon be behind me.

I've come up with a logo for my project.

Did a little work in Illustrator to come up with the effect I wanted. This is an example of where Illustrator's tools have an edge over Photoshop. I'm really glad I took two classes in Illustrator through American River College. It was very helpful.

Today's photos come from Town and Country Village. These are the not-roses that add color to the grounds. It just goes to show what a professional landscaper can offer. Even cloudy, cold winter days can seem Spring-like.
