We take a break now from the floral monotony for a little feline entertainment. Shadow is our fraidy cat. He's just this side of feral. If you visit our house, you'll never see him.

The other day, he was basking in the sun from beneath the patio furniture on the deck ...

... when there was this sound in the sky. I expected to see him dash under the deck ...

... but he just stared into the sky, fixated on the huge flock of geese honking loudly as they headed north.

This picture doesn't do the scene justice. It really was an impressive display.
